Unlike Firestick, Android TV is a pure Google experience. This means Ocean Streamz runs natively with full support for Voice Search, Home Screen Channels, and "Play Next" recommendations.
Supported Devices
- ✅ NVIDIA Shield (Pro/Tube)
- ✅ Chromecast with Google TV
- ✅ Sony Bravia (Android Models)
- ✅ Xiaomi Mi Box / Stick
- ✅ Philips Android TVs
Why it works best here
The "Leanback" UI of Ocean Streamz was built specifically for these large screen interfaces.
Step 1: Install "Downloader"
Since Ocean Streamz is a community app, it is not on the Play Store. We need a bridge.
- Open the Google Play Store on your TV.
- Go to the Search bar (or hold the mic button).
- Say or type "Downloader".
- Install the orange icon app by AFTVnews.
Step 2: Grand Permissions (Crucial)
Android 10+ requires special permission to write files.
- Open Downloader.
- Click Allow when asked for file access.
- (Optional) If you are on a Chromecast, you might need to go to Settings > System > Developer Options and enable "Unknown Sources" for Downloader manually.
Step 3: Enter the Code
Official Downloader Code
Downloads Ocean Streamz v3.5.13 automatically
See all backup codes →Type this code into the URL box in Downloader and click Go.
Step 4: Install & Setup
The file (approx 17MB) will download.
- Click Install when the popup appears.
- Click Open.
- Select "TV Mode" if requested (usually auto-detected).
Pro Tip: Add to Home Screen
Sometimes installed apps don't appear in the top row immediately.
- Scroll to the far right of your "Apps" row.
- Click "See All" or the "+" icon.
- Scroll down to find Ocean Streamz.
- Long-press the "Select" button (center button).
- Choose Move and drag it to the front of the line.
Update Ocean Streamz on Android TV
Already have the app and just want the latest version? Updating is the same code as installing:
- Open Downloader and enter code 9301333 again — it always fetches the current version (today that is v3.5.13).
- Install it over the existing app. Do not uninstall first — installing over the top keeps your favourites, history and Real-Debrid / Trakt logins.
- If the update will not install ("App not installed"), your old install is likely corrupt: uninstall the app, restart the TV/box, then do a fresh install with the same code. This is also the fix for update not working loops.
See every version and what changed on the Changelog page.
Install Problems — Quick Fixes
Problem: Downloader cannot install the app / "Install blocked"
Fix: Android TV blocks sideloading per-app. On Chromecast with Google TV go to Settings > System > Developer Options and allow installs for Downloader (as in Step 2 above); on other Android TV devices, allow Downloader to install unknown apps when the system prompt appears, and make sure you tapped Allow for file access inside Downloader.
Problem: "App not installed" at the end of the install
Fix: This almost always means a damaged download or a corrupt older install. Delete the downloaded APK inside Downloader, download again with code 9301333, and retry. If it still fails, uninstall the old Ocean Streamz first, restart the device, then install fresh.
Problem: The app does not appear on the home screen
Fix: This is the Pro Tip above — open the Apps row, choose "See All" / "+", find Ocean Streamz, long-press Select and Move it to the front. The app is installed; Android TV simply did not pin it.
Problem: Installed, but nothing plays / links fail to load
Fix: That is not an install problem — work through the fixes on our Not Working page (date & time on Automatic, clear the scraper cache, check Real-Debrid has not expired).
Which TVs Does This NOT Work On?
This guide is for Android TV / Google TV devices only. Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) Smart TVs cannot run Android apps directly — for those TVs, plug in a Fire TV Stick or Chromecast with Google TV and install on that instead (see the Firestick guide). If your Sony, Philips, TCL or Hisense TV runs Android TV / Google TV, you are in the right place.
